Easter Bucket

Last Sunday I needed a little more sleep so Blake diligently woke up with Braden at 7am. While I was resting my head, my two boys were having a great time downstairs with Braden's Easter Bucket.

Blake said Braden played for about 40 minutes with this bucket. Blake couldn't snap enough photos. I did hear them laughing, but was too tired to check it out. I am kinda sad I missed it.

Barnett Dance Club

When we lived in Logan we found a listing on Craig's List for a $500 Clavinova. Thanks to our friends the Whittiers, we purchased this lovely piano. It has been especially fun with Braden. It plays a variety of demo songs that Braden, Blake and I dance to every night. We thought it would be fun to get some videos of Braden's dance moves.

We have been trying to get his spinning on video

Sausage Egg Casserole

Rue: (mix together)
3-4 Tbsp butter
3-4 Tbsp flour
2-3 cups milk

Ingredients: (add into rue)
8 hard boiled eggs, chopped
1 pound sausage, fried
1 can of corn
8 pieces of bread, cubed

Put in casserole dish and pour bread cubes on top. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until bread gets crisp.

We had this for dinner on Saturday. After giving Braden a little egg white chunk, this is what happened. A swollen face. He tasted the egg and then spit it out to play with it. After getting it all over his hands, he wiped it all over his face which made his eyes water and face balloon up. After a quick call to the doctor and a 1/2 tsp of benedryl the swelling started to go down. It's true and makes perfect sense, Braden is allergic to eggs. It doesn't matter if it's a plain egg or something with an egg in it, his skin gets irritated and begins to swell. Although Blake and I liked the casserole, Braden will not be eating it anymore.

My New Job to Support My New Addiction

I have a new addiction. I have known about it for a long time and was even invited to attend a friend's class (she teaches it) last fall, but didn't follow through until 2 weeks ago. I am talking about ...
Yes, Spinning. I was told I wouldn't like it the first time, but if I kept at it then I would soon be addicted. Maybe it was good I waited until now because I was addicted after the first class. Yes, my bum hurt so bad, but it was worth it. I have been at least 5 times and yes, I took on a job so I could continue these classes along with others.
Let me explain. The classes are held at North Idaho Athletic Club. They have a really good kid care so I can workout during the day while Braden plays with his little friends. I hated having to squeeze in working out when Blake got home because I love my husband/wife time. Memberships plus kid care cost over $50/month.
How do we remedy this? I work a 2.75 hour shift once a week (Friday's from 11:45-2:30). This shift is during Braden's nap time, so he just sleeps in the other room while I watch the kids. And Blake doesn't even come home for lunch on Friday's (his work buys everyone lunch). This is a win-win-win situation. Blake is excited because I am getting in shape and our bank account isn't affected in anyway.

Attempting a Garden.. again!

As some of you may remember I attempted a square foot garden last year. The yard was much more of an undertaking than we thought, so the garden got pushed to the back burner. I am re-attempting it this year. WSU had a plant sale and $9 later I went home with 12 Cougar Red tomato, 8 Cherry tomatoes, 8 Roma tomatoes and 4 green pepper plants. My tomato plants were quickly dying, so I transplanted them so they could have more space to grow. They have taken up permanent residence in our guest room. The sun is at maximum power there. The peppers, cherry & Roma tomatoes are growing beautifully, but the Cougar Reds still struggle. What does it mean when the leaves are turning yellow?I am hoping to can my own tomatoes this year, or at least gain some experience for a better garden next year. Any advice would be much appreciated. My Cougars look pathetic.

Braden Loves his Cars

Braden has really been into his cars lately. He will push them in his stroller and make crashing sounds when he crashes them. He has also been in to tackling his mom and dad. We just adore him.

Girls Night Out: Twilight

I am hoping Girls Night Out becomes a monthly tradition. A group of us decided we wanted a couple of hours in one night to be women or in this case, teen girls. And if we wanted to be teen girls, then why not theme the night, TWILIGHT NIGHT.
Thanks to Erin Smith, we had lovely decorations.
Great food. (Spaghetti by me, salad by Kristen, fruit by Jessica, treats by Camille & Erin)
And with a perfect mix of mothers, we were ready to ooh and awh over Edward Cullen. (left to right: Jessica Sorensen, Kristen Coke, Erin Smith, Camille Bell, me, & Karen Holmes)
Kristen showing off her bloody cupcake.
It was so fun to have a nice dinner and sit around and talk. Since we are all mothers, we spoke a lot of kids and husbands, but it was still nice to just visit. After dinner we started the movie and had so much fun picking it apart. I recommend watching it with a group of your good girl friends, it makes it really entertaining.
Like I said, I hope this can become a monthly tradition and we can get even more women out. Did I ever tell you that I love Pullman, if not, then I love Pullman!

These are a Few of His Favorite Things

Are computer is finally up and running. A big thanks to Blake and our friend Tim Anderson. We avoided losing all our files, however, we did lose our Microsoft Office products, so sad! This post is especially for my dad who said "we better get our computer up and running so he could see pictures of Braden or he maybe would need to get us a new computer." Maybe we should just say our computer is a gonner.

Braden is growing so fast by the day. We have been pretty busy this week, with all our repairs and so forth. There will be plenty more posts to come. And, I hope it is good weather everywhere else, because it is to die for here.

Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday was finally here. Braden woke up to see his Easter Bucket. This included a bucket with his candy from the egg hunt on Saturday, a Bible Peek-a-Boo book from Grandma & Grandpa Forsberg, and My Eternal Family book, made by me.
I was excited to make a book that could display pictures of all Braden's family. (Cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc)
It also included quotes and pictures of our Savior, as well as other important things in our life.
Braden had so much fun with his stroller. Blake made the mistake of teaching him how to climb into it, while Blake pushed him around. Guess what Braden wanted to do the rest of the day.
We had a wonderful church service. Great speakers, musical numbers and lessons. Braden lasted for about 5 minutes in Sunday school and then needed to walk around the halls. Blake said that he walked to the stairs and wanted to go down. When they got downstairs he walked straight to the nursery door and insisted they go in. We can't believe he remembered nursery. It had been a couple of weeks because of conference and vacations. He loves it though.
Blake & Son
Mom & Son
Our good friends the Packer's came over for dinner. Rachel just had a little girl on Tuesday, so I didn't think she needed to cook. It was fun having a baby girl around the house. She melted Blake's heart.
It is Forsberg family tradition to have an egg for Easter dinner (vanilla pudding and a peach). We also had a traditional ham, Blake's favorite homemade twice-baked (aka: funeral potatoes), and green bean casserole. We were lucky enough to partake of Rachel's birthday cake, a 4 layer coconut cake, the best ever!
After dinner the kids just played outside and then Rob read them stories. Braden absolutely LOVES Rob.
He loves Grace and Sam too. He follows Sam and tries to do all the same things he does.
Overall it was a great day. We are so grateful to our brother and Savior Jesus Christ who made the ultimate sacrifice for us to live with Him again. The most important message of the day is that He Lives! We know this is true.

Commercial Easter

Blake and I had a full fun filled day planned. We decided that all commercial Easter stuff will take place on Saturday and we would focus on the true meaning of Easter on Sunday. On the list, Egg Hunt, pictures with the Easter Bunny, me- baby shower for a friend, and some relaxation time. Unfortunately, Blake had to go into work all day, they have a deadline for their new website. That means I was at it alone.

The city of Pullman puts on a wonderful Easter Egg Hunt for kids ages 1-9. They section off each age group and let the kids run free. You can find candy and gift certificates in the eggs.

Braden's ready for some egg hunting with his dollar store bucket.Checking out the for the hunt.Found some eggs. He wouldn't pick them up himself, but he would take them out of my hand and put them in his bucket. Mom & Son. You can't tell, but it is pouring down rain. Still worth it.
Braden made out with candy and a gift certificate for free bowling. After the egg hunt, we headed over to Moscow for some shopping. We took a picture with the Easter Bunny at Wal-Mart. Braden started bawling when he first saw the bunny. I had to sit with him. Look at this face, he is truly scared. Wouldn't you be?At our Monday playgroup, Braden plays with the strollers the whole time. It's a group full of 5-6 little boys and they all fight over the 3 strollers. I decided yesterday to buy him one. (Not an Easter gift, just something for fun.) He hasn't stopped playing with it since. He likes to push around all sorts of things.

Dad was less than satisfied at it being pink, but Braden could care less. This is a great 1st Birthday gift for all you mother's out there. And if you ever find a blue stroller, buy it, I don't think they exist. I have decided I never want to be a single parent. Braden and I missed Blake all day. After picking up Blake at 5:30, we headed back to Moscow for dinner. We both had draining days and decided to eat out for dinner. After putting Braden to bed, we watched the movie Doubt. A very thought provoking movie. Blake didn't like it. Commercial Easter was fun, but we can't wait to truly celebrate the Resurrection of our brother and Savior Jesus Christ.

Smith Egg Hunt

Thursday Braden was invited to attend an Easter Egg Hunt, compliments of Madelyn and Jonathon Smith (Erin Smith being their mom and the party planner). The egg hunt was gated until all the kids arrived, Braden couldn't wait.
I tried pointing out the eggs.
But he was more interested in the rings.
Finally he noticed and was interested.
When he discovered treats inside, there was no turning back. (Although this is Jackson's basket, not Braden's.)
Braden's first Easter Egg Hunt, I couldn't be more proud.
After we got done with the egg hunt, Erin whipped out the bubble machine. The kids adored this.
They also had a little toy car. Braden couldn't get enough of this. I tried to teach him how to use the door, but he found this method more effective.
Superman
Driving Around.
We had so much fun. Braden totally didn't get the egg hunt concept, but loved to be around the other kids. Thanks Erin for planning a fun morning. We will have to get together and play in your yard when the weather is nicer.
