Braden's Blessing Day

Sorry, I promised to post pictures of his blessing day. We are in Utah and I have been so busy that this is the first time I have had to post. So here we go.

Daddy Blake and his favorite son. Blake was so worried about Braden crying during the blessing. He told me he would 'amen' it mid-sentence if Braden acted up. Thank goodness he didn't.
Braden & I. I ended up borrowing his little blessing outfit from my good friend Jennie. Thank you little Blake (her son).
Braden with Grandma and Grandpa Forsberg (yes, my mom does go by Grandma) Braden with Grandma and Grandpa Barnett
My Grandma Evans was able to make it down for the blessing. It was good to see her.
After the blessing we had all my family over for a big BBQ (about 30 of us). By the end of the day, Braden was worn out.

Overall, it was a great day. I would have loved to have my brother and sister-in-law (Toren & Audrey) home, as well as Chad, Nicole and the kids, plus Amber, so all the family could be there, but traveling is expensive now a days.

Trip to Oregon City

We blessed Braden today (pictures of his blessing will come in a later post). My parent's just got finished with a huge remodel, so Braden and I headed down a week early to help them get things organized and oh boy did we help! Blake drove up Friday evening to join us. Here are a series of pictures from our past week in Oregon City.

Blake & I telling Braden about his first flight (Spokane to Portland)

Blake just making sure Braden will fit as a carry on. Bad News: Our flight was delayed 45 minutes. Good News: Southwest let Blake through security so he could see us off. (Thank you Spokane Airport.)

Grandma Forsberg with Braden. She sure loved playing with him. Grandpa Forsberg loved taking naps with Braden. I loved this too, extra sleep for me!
Just napping on his side. Doesn't he look like a big boy?
My good friend Jennie and I hung out all week. She has a 7 month year old son named Blake (in honor of my Blake, just kidding.) They boys were tuckered out from all our running around.Aunt Kalen loved to show him off. I promised to pick her up from school so she could show her friends her cute nephew. Although I picked her up EVERYDAY, it wasn't until Friday that Braden actually came. He was sleeping or upset every other day.
Aunt Mallory & Uncle Brent came on Thursday morning for his blessing. Mallory couldn't put him down.
Frisbie followed Braden around everywhere. They were the best of friends. Only a couple times did Braden actual pay attention to Frisbie.
With the passing of Blake's Grandmother, he came to oregon on Friday instead of Thursday. He sure missed his son. Blake claims he got bigger. He actually did get bigger. Three outfits that fit him just the week before no longer fit. So big! Blake's parents drove in on Saturday. This is Braden's first time meeting Grandpa Barnett. He sure loves him. It was Grandma Barnett who he couldn't stop speaking to though. He had a lot to tell her.

This was our trip to Oregon City. I will be posting his blessing pictures in a later post, so keep looking. And I would love to see some more comments, even if its just to say that you saw the pics.

Coming to Utah

Blake, Braden and I will be in Utah next Monday thru Saturday. Unfortunately, Blake's grandmother passed away this morning. I wish we were coming under better circumstances, but glad we are coming nonetheless. We are happy to spend time with family and also excited to see some friends. We would like to plan a night for everyone to go out to dinner in the Salt Lake area (maybe on Friday night). Please tell me what you guys think. I want to show off my Braden boy.

Hands and Rolling

Note: there is another cute post below!
WEEK 11- Braden discovers his hands and rolls onto his side.

We were on a walk and Braden was being so good. He had no pacifier in but was still as happy as could be. It was his hands! They are his favorite toy lately.
Braden first discovering his cute little hands!
Video of Braden playing with his hands
On Mother's Day, Blake claimed Braden rolled onto his side, twice! I didn't see it and he didn't do it throughout the week, so I thought Blake was bluffing, until today. My baby rolls onto his side!
The video of him rolling onto his side.

Braden's New Friend

I have made a friend with a girl in my ward named Jessica. She has the cutest little 21 month year old girl named Avery. Jessica is also pregnant (due in August like everyone I know) with another little girl. We hung out a couple times this week and Braden just loves Avery.

Avery showing Braden her toys

Laughing at Avery's cute faces
Braden is totally tuned into what Avery is saying
I just thought these were the cutest photos. I am sure he will enjoy playing with her (and their new little one) as he continues to grow.

Tribute to LOST

Well, the Jazz offically lost last night to the Lakers, 108-105. They had 2 chances to take it into overtime, but couldn't seal the deal. Blake and I had some friends over to watch the game. Thank goodness the other guys were as into the game as Blake. I think it made his day.

With the losing of the Utah Jazz, we thought it would be a good idea to pay tribute to the best television show ever created, LOST. The season ends in 2 weeks and we can't be more excited. I would tell you where the plot is now, but that would mean you wouldn't watch the show. If you haven't gotten addicted, please do. If you have any doubts, please contact myself, Hillary & Cameron, or my brother & sister-in-law. All three of us know the magnitude of this greatness.

We have no clue how the season is going to end, but I am sure it will leave as lost as it did last season. The only show I look forward to over the summer is SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE! I love this show even more than American Idol (if that tells you how good it is), I just wish my friend Meg was on there for me to vote for, maybe next year!

Bumbo Chair

My friends Kelly and Tim have a bumbo chair for their daughter. They couldn't say enough good things about it, so I decided to invest in one yesterday. (The baby has to be able to hold their head up.) Here are a series of pictures taken of Braden in his bumbo chair. I love it!

First Time in the Chair

Trying to figure it out

Favorite Picture in the Bumbo Chair

Isn't he just the cutest boy ever! He usually lasts about 5-10 minutes before he wants to do something else. Just as Kelly and Tim, we definately recommend this little chair for your child's (and your) entertainment.

Recent Activities

The Utah Jazz are still in the playoffs. It is so cute to watch Blake try and get Braden into the Jazz. This is Braden watching the Jazz with his dad. I keep telling Blake he is just focused on the light and colors, but Blake insists he is analyzing their chances of beating the Lakers.

As I think I have mentioned before, we are attempting a Square Foot Garden. Although pricey to begin, it is SO easy to maintain. So far we have peas, lettuce, watermelons, and carrots planted. We will be purchasing starters this week, so next photo will be a little more green.
After helping us in the yard all day, Braden couldn't help but fall asleep in the love sac. He is so big. He has been napping all the time lately.
This was taken yesterday. We went to P.S. I Love You in the morning. Had a play date all afternoon and then worked in the yard all night. He was fast asleep at 7:30pm and didn't wake up until this morning at 9:30am. Obviously he woke up to eat at certain times. I tired him out.

He is getting so chunky and much more active. I can't believe how much he is smiling and talking to us. I am sure the next several months will bring even cuter stories.
